RESOLUTION NO. 12-495 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AMENDING <br /> THE BERNAL PROPERTY SPECIFIC PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FOR THE <br /> GATEWAY PROPERTY BETWEEN VALLEY AVENUE AND 1-680 (CASE P11-0914) <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is preparing a Housing Element of the General Plan; and, <br /> WHEREAS, in order to meet the City's share of the regional housing need, additional sites are to <br /> be designated for high density residential development; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Gateway site (Site 7) has been reviewed by the Housing Element Task Force <br /> over the course of nine meetings and was the subject of four community workshops; and <br /> WHEREAS, the at its meeting of January 4, 2012, the City Council considered an application for <br /> a City-initiated Specific Plan Amendment to the Bernal Property Specific Plan (Exhibit A) to change the <br /> Phase I Land Use Diagram for 27 acres between Valley Avenue and 1-680 from Commercial/Office to <br /> Residential, as shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made part of this resolution by reference; and <br /> WHEREAS, on December 14, 2011, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the <br /> proposed change and made recommendations to the City Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 4, 2012, the City Council reviewed and certified the Final Supplemental <br /> Environmental Impact Report on the Housing Element and Climate Action Plan and no further <br /> environmental review is warranted at this time; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) was prepared for this <br /> project, and a resolution certifying the SEIR as complete and adequate in compliance with the <br /> California Environmental Quality Act was adopted by the City Council on January 4, 2012; and <br /> WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on January 4, 2012, with respect to this <br /> Specific Plan Amendment. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City-initiated Specific Plan Amendment to the Bernal Property Specific Plan to <br /> change the Phase I Land Use Diagram for 27 acres between Valley Avenue and 1-680 from <br /> Commercial/Office to Residential, as shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made part of this resolution <br /> by reference, is hereby approved. <br /> SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br /> regular meeting held on January 4, 2012. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 4'h day of January, 2012, <br /> by the following vote: <br /> 1 <br />
