CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 950 AN ORDINANCE ADDING §4-5.25 (CANINE DEFECATION) TO ARTICLE 3, CHAPTER 3, TITLE IV AND AMENDING §1-1.11 OF CHAPTER 1, TITLE I TO MAKE VIOLATION OF CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE ORDINANCE CODE INFRACTIONS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Article 3 (Animals Running at Large) of Chapter 3 (Animal Control), Title IV (Health, Safety, Moral and General Welfare) is hereby amended by addition of Section 4-5.25 to read as follows: "§ 4-5.25 Canine Defecation. No person owning or having custody or control of any dog shall permit such dog to defecate on any public street, sidewalk, park or parkway or upon any private property without the consent of either the owner or occupant of such property without immediately removing the resulting excrement. The execrement so removed shall not be disposed of on any property listed in this article or in public receptacles. Persons using seeing eye dogs are exempt from this section." Section 2: Section 1-1.15. (Infractions) of Chapter 1 (General Provisions) Title I (Administration) is amended by adding §4-5.25 above to the list of Code sections punishable as infractions. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days following passage and adoption. Section 4: This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in "THE TIMES," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton.
