ISELINK is <br /> hosted over the internet, thus eliminating the upfront costs associated with enterprise <br /> software. <br /> • SWAT Gas Masks $11,100 <br /> Pleasanton SWAT Operators are required to carry gas masks during a variety of tactical <br /> missions, during which chemical agents may be deployed. Currently team members <br /> use gas masks issued to them for patrol. Although these masks are appropriate for <br /> patrol functions they do not have voice modulators or communications accessories <br /> necessary for tactical operations. With limited visibility, due to wear and tear on the <br /> current gas masks, and poor communications the Tactical Team members have <br /> increased difficulty working in environments where chemical agents are deployed. The <br /> purchase of new gas masks will provide team members with the ability to communicate <br /> with one another and provide improved vision through the mask with new lenses. <br /> • SWAT Uniforms $7,000 <br /> SWAT personnel need to replace worn and distressed tactical uniforms. The new <br /> uniform is extremely durable and designed for harsh outdoor conditions. The uniform <br /> incorporates several unique technologies such as built-in adjustable and removable <br /> knee and elbow pads. The uniform also has a padded waist band and high-mobility <br /> stretch panels in the knees and back. The shirt is designed specifically to be worn <br /> under a tactical vest where it will keep the wearer cool. The shirt is also fire resistant. <br /> The purchase of this uniform meets the demanding needs of the tactical team and will <br /> provide uniformity for all team members. <br /> • SWAT Sniper Rifles $20,100 <br /> Currently the SWAT team uses sniper rifles which utilize older technology; the older of <br /> the two rifles was purchased 15 years ago. Since that time numerous advances in <br /> weapon reliability, accuracy, and safety, as well as significant advances in optics has <br /> been made. The SWAT team desires to purchase new sniper rifles, including high <br /> quality scopes which allow a high transmission of light and high resolution. The <br /> purchase would also include suppressors to effectively reduce sound at the muzzle, <br /> conceal muzzle flash/blast, and reduce recoil. <br /> • Video Camera $3,000 <br /> The Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit intends to revamp and upgrade the <br /> "COPPS in Pleasanton" television show as well as develop videos for public outreach. <br /> Currently the police department possesses older model analog camcorders. These <br /> camcorders have low picture quality and utilize built-in microphones which tend to <br /> capture all ambient sound from the environment.
