THE CITY OF 17 <br /> pLEASANTON, CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> December 6, 2011 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL <br /> SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CAROLLO ENGINEERS FOR $287,280 TO <br /> COMPLETE THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RECYCLED WATER <br /> FEASIBILITY STUDY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton (City) has selected Carollo Engineers to conduct a feasibility <br /> study to evaluate the implementation of a comprehensive recycled water program in its <br /> service area. The study will be performed in close partnership with the Zone 7 Water <br /> Agency (Zone 7), as the regional drinking water wholesaler and managing agency of the <br /> regions groundwater supply basins. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> City staff recommends City Council to authorize the City Manager to execute the <br /> attached Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Carollo Engineers for $287,280 <br /> to perform the City of Pleasanton Recycled Water Feasibility Study. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The total project cost for the study is $287,280. This reflects the negotiated contract <br /> price of $249,780 plus a fifteen (15) percent contingency of $37,500. The contingency <br /> balance is only to be used if necessary to ensure the study is comprehensive and meets <br /> the required State and Federal construction grant and loan requirements. <br /> The Recycled Water Enterprise is currently funded at $333,872. This total reflects the <br /> $106,840 transferred to the fund (305-536451-3334) in FY10/11 combined with <br /> $227,032 collected to date since July 1, 2011. <br />
