The minimum assessment is $50 and the maximum is $350. Non-profit businesses
within the downtown are not assessed.
The PDA budget includes a full-time Executive Director, and a part-time Office
Manager. The Events Coordinator is a full-time position to facilitate the First
Wednesday Street Parties and all other events throughout the year.
At the November 3, 2009 City Council meeting, the City and the PDA renewed a five-
year funding contract whereby the City contributes funds to match the annual
assessment revenue. This $133,000 combined assessment revenue and the City
match is projected to account for approximately 33% of the total 2012 funding sources.
Events planned during the year are projected to account for approximately 56% of the
total 2012 revenue. The forty-five scheduled events (increased from thirty nine in
2011), include: five First Wednesday Street Parties (May, June, July, August and
September); 14 Concerts in the Park in Lions Wayside Park (June through August); two
Antique Fairs (May and October); two Wine Strolls (February and June); one Installation
Dinner (January); one Annual Meeting (April); one Brew Crawl (October); one Board
Retreat (mid-year); three membership mixers (April, June or July and October), one
Downtown Magical Holiday Evening (November); thirteen Sizzling Saturdays (every
Saturday in April, August & September) and one Earlier Than the Bird (November).
These planned events will require street closures to occur in the Downtown area on
seven (7) days.
Submitted by: Approve by:
Emily E.
