IN TPEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLE3~SANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE 0F CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2984 <br /> <br />WHEEEAS: <br /> <br /> Governor Edmund G. Brown has proclaimed the week of ~rch 7-13, <br /> 1960, "California Public Employees' Week" in recognition of <br /> public service at all levels of government throughout the state, <br /> and <br /> these services to the public are absolutely essential to the <br /> health, security and comfort of all the citizens of the City of <br /> Pleasanton, and <br />WHEEF~: these services, so important to an ordered society~ are performed <br /> <br /> by public employees who are carefully selected and promoted <br /> competitively on the basis of meri% and <br /> <br />WHEBEAS: they constitute an important segment of taxpayers and make a <br /> significant contribution to the civic life of the City of <br /> Pleasanton~ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: it is fitting and proper to honor these public employees who have <br /> <br /> generally earned for themselves a reputation of dedicated, <br /> efficient service in the performance of their duties. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br />on February 29, 196% at a regular meeting adopted this resolution urging <br />all citizens to support "California Public Employees' Week" with appropriate <br />civic observances in recognition of the many public services performed by <br />devoted and dedicated public employees~ serving the people of the City of <br />Pleasanton in state, county and city levels of government. <br /> <br />A~t~S T: <br /> <br />M~yor <br /> <br />city <br /> <br /> <br />
