Councilmember McGovern asked if and how Pleasanton fire, separate from Livermore, could pay off its <br /> unfunded liability. Mr. Bartel said this can be done, as they do something similar for a Fire District that <br /> has several participating cities on retiree medical. They each have a different philosophy when it comes <br /> to prefunding retiree medical. <br /> Councilmembers thanked Mr. Bartel for his thorough presentation and his ability to convey the <br /> information in an understandable fashion. <br /> Mayor Hosterman opened t public comment. <br /> Jason Solik recognized the challenges ahead and over several months he expressed his philosophy of <br /> negotiations which is about building relationships, and there is a great relationship with both Livermore <br /> and Pleasanton.
