CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COU,'~Ty OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE CF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />~OLIJ?ION NO. d ,,~ ,~ ~ <br /> <br /> OPPOSING A NATIONAL CEMETERY <br /> IN THE PLEASAN/~NAREA. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the United States of America, acting through one <br /> <br /> of its federal agencies, proposes to establish a national <br /> cemetery, similar to the Golden Gate National Cemetery at <br /> San Bruno, California, in Alameda County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has duly considered the affect this would <br /> <br /> have upon the growth and the future of this area. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1) The City Council does hereby oppose the federal government <br />establishing a national cemetery in the Pleasanton general plan- <br />ning area and in Camp Parks or its vicinity. <br /> <br /> 2) The Pleasanton planning area is bounded on the north by <br />Highway U.S. 50, on the east by Isabelle Avenue and a northerly <br />extension thereof, on the south by Vallecitos Road, and on the <br />west by the crest of the foothills running generally north-south. <br /> <br />3) Copies of this resolution shall be distributed to <br /> <br />officers and federal, state and local agencies. <br /> <br />DATED: December 4, 1961. <br /> <br />WARREN R .o HARDING,/ <br />Mayor <br /> <br />interes re( <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> GARE~rL.
