CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ~ <br /> STATE OF CALIFOENIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3223 <br /> <br /> Whereas, the City of Livermore has proposed to relocate and exp~nd the <br />Livermore Sky Hanch airport facility on a site east of Santa Rita Road and <br />south of U. S. Highway 50 in the vicinity of F~llon and Croak Roads; and <br /> <br /> Whereas, the site proposed for the relocation of the City of Livermore <br />airport facility lies within the area of the Pleasanton General Plan; and <br /> <br /> Whereas , the Pleasanton City Planning Commission and City Cotuxcil have <br />expended considerable time and effort in studying the effect of the proposed <br />relocation upon the goals of the Pleasanton General Plan and the existing and <br />future land uses in the vicinity of the proposed site; <br /> <br /> Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the City Council of the City of <br />Pleasanton hereby expresses its opposition to the relocation of the City of <br />Llvermore airport facility on the site proposed by the City of Livermore for <br /> <br />the following reasons: <br /> <br /> 1. The location of an airport on the site proposed by the City of <br />Livermore wolxld not constitute the highest and best land use for the site <br />itself, and would adversely affect the future land use of the area sur- <br />rounding the proposed location. <br /> <br /> 2. The location of an airport facility within the area of the Pleasanton <br />General Plan, and particularly on the proposed site, is not favored due to <br />unfavorable noise and safety factors which, in the City of Pleasanton's <br />opinion would be apparent in the l~At~ure, especially as these factors would <br />affect existing and £uture land uses in the remainder of the General Plan area~ <br /> 3- Location of an airport facility on the site proposed by the City of <br />Livermore would result in undue financial hardship for the surrounding <br /> <br /> <br />
