THE CITY OF 15 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL EASANTON. <br /> October 4, 2011 <br /> Administrative Services <br /> INTRODUCTION OF UPCOMING LABOR NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE <br /> INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, LOCAL 1974 (IAFF) AND <br /> RECEIVE PUBLIC INPUT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding with the International Association of Firefighters, <br /> Local 1974 (IAFF) will expire on December 31, 2011. Representatives from both parties <br /> will meet and confer in the near future to develop a successor agreement. This public <br /> session introduces the matter and allows for open discussion prior to initiating formal <br /> negotiations with the IAFF, and allows the City Council and staff to receive input from <br /> the public on this matter. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council receive public input regarding negotiations with the International <br /> Association of Firefighters, Local 1974. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no financial impact associated with this action. However, any subsequent labor <br /> contract negotiated by the City will have a fiscal impact on the operating budget. The <br /> impacts will be shared publically when a tentative agreement is reached. <br />
