CiTY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> 1 8 1 <br />~ -~oLUTION <br /> NO. <br /> <br />OPPOSING SENATE BILL 853, RE <br />CREATING GOLDEN GATE TRANSPORTATION <br />COMMISS ION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is vitally necessary in <br />the public transportation for the Bay area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton recognizes the need to <br />meet common problems on an area wide basis through some form of <br />metropolitan government; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS I <br /> <br /> 1) The City Council does hereby oppose and express its <br />opposition to Senate Bill 853, creating the'~olden Gate Trans- <br />portation Commission" as currently constituted, <br /> <br /> 2) The City Council supports the position taken by the <br />Council of the City of Newark in its letter to the Honorable <br />Randolph Collier, Chairman, Senate Transportation CoLumittee, <br />dated May 2, 1961. <br /> <br /> 3) The City Clerk shall send copies of this Resolution to <br />interested parties, officers and agencies. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED: May 8, 1961. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />WARREN R.
