8. RESPONSE TO CALLS <br /> A. An Operator shall respond to calls for service 24 hours a day,seven days a week,within <br /> the maximum response times set forth below or as otherwise established by the PPD. <br /> 1) Daytime hours shall be 6:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m.; night hours shall be 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 <br /> a.m. <br /> 2) For Class A and Class B tow trucks,the minimum response time shall be no later <br /> than 20 minutes. <br /> 3) For Class C tow trucks, the minimum response time shall be no later than 30 <br /> minutes. <br /> B. An appropriately licensed Operator or tow truck driver shall respond with a properly <br /> equipped tow truck of the class required to tow the vehicle and be in possession of the <br /> appropriate class of license and applicable endorsements. <br /> 1) All applicable permits(e.g., load variance or oversize) shall be valid and maintained <br /> in the tow truck. <br /> C. An Operator shall advise the PPD Dispatch, at the time of notification, if the Operator is <br /> either unable to respond or unable to meet the maximum response time. If, after <br /> accepting the call,the Operator is unable to respond or shall be delayed in responding, <br /> Operator shall immediately notify the PPD Dispatch. <br /> D. A failure to respond to perform the required towing or service and/or repeated failures <br /> to meet maximum response time requirements shall constitute failure to comply with <br /> the TSA. <br /> 1) The PPD may take immediate disciplinary action for any violation of the requirement <br /> to perform the required towing or service or respond within the maximum response <br /> time. <br /> 2) When an Operator shall be temporarily unavailable to provide services due to a <br /> preplanned or scheduled activity, the Operator shall notify the PPD Dispatch at least <br /> 24 hours prior to the date service shall be unavailable, noting the times and dates of <br /> the unavailability. <br /> E. An Operator responding to a call shall perform the towing or service required for which <br /> they were called unless the requested equipment is inadequate for the service to be <br /> performed. <br /> 2011-2013 TSA Page 10 of 30 <br />
