CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1083 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE I, CHAPTER 3, ARTICLE <br /> 2 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO DEFINE THE <br /> REGULATORY PURPOSES OF THE BUSINESS LICENSE <br /> ORDINANCE AND TO PERMIT PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF <br /> OWNERS' NAMES, BUSINESS NAME AND BUSINESS ADDRESS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 1-5.16 is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "§1-5.16 Revenue and Regulatory Measure. This <br /> article is enacted primarily to raise revenue for <br /> municipal purposes and the City does not review <br /> warrant or endorse its licensees as to character <br /> or quality of product. This article is also a <br /> regulatory measure in that the City will not issue <br /> a business license when the proposed business <br /> would violate zoning or other applicable City <br /> regulations." <br /> <br />Section 2: Section 1-5.27 is amended by adding a new subsection <br /> 1 to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "1. The public disclosure of <br /> <br /> a. The name of the owner; <br /> <br /> b. Type of business ownership (e.g. sole <br /> proprietor, partnership or corporation); <br /> <br /> c. The name of the business licensed; <br /> <br /> d. The place where such business is to be <br /> transacted and carried on; and <br /> <br /> e. A copy of the business certificate with <br /> all financial information removed." <br /> <br /> The remaining subsections are renumbered accordingly. <br /> <br /> Section 3: This ordinance shall be published once within <br /> fifteen (15) days after its adoption in "The <br /> Valley Times," a newspaDer of general circulation <br /> published in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> <br />
