CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> 3284 <br />RESOLUTION NO ...... <br /> <br />OPPOSING FEDERAL TAX ON PUBLIC BOND INCOME <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton, Alameda County, California, <br />finances much needed improvements by issuance of general <br />obligation ond other bonds; and <br /> <br /> WI4EREAS, the interest income of the bond owners as in the <br /> ~ast is now exempt from Federal Income Tax; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is a movement in Congress to impose a tax <br /> ~ interest income of such bonds; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br />join the State of California in opposing any legislation or <br />constitutional amendment which would subject interest income from <br /> <br />public bonds to the Federal Income Taxes. <br /> _ <br /> 2. The CityClerk ms directed to transport copies' of this <br /> _ <br />resolution to the President of the United States, Senators from <br /> <br />California and local Congressmen. <br /> _ <br />ADOPTED: April 9, 1962. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />MARGARET L.
