3) All ratings for cables and chain assemblies are for the undamaged assembly <br /> condition. All cable and chain assemblies should be the same type, construction, <br /> and rating as specified by the original equipment manufacturers (OEM)for the <br /> equipment. <br /> D. Control/Safety Labels: All controls shall be clearly marked to indicate proper operation, <br /> as well as any special warnings or cautions. <br /> 13. INSPECTIONS <br /> A. The PPD shall provide for not less than one annual inspection of all tow trucks at no <br /> charge to the Operator. <br /> 1) The PPD may conduct additional inspections without notice during normal business <br /> hours. <br /> B. An Operator shall not dispatch a tow truck that has not been inspected and approved by <br /> the PPD. <br /> 1) The PPD shall inspect a tow truck within 30 calendar days of request from an <br /> Operator. <br /> C. The annual inspection shall consist of the following: <br /> 1) A Level One inspection (CHP 407f, Safetynet Driver/Vehicle Inspection Report) <br /> conducted by a PPD representative. <br /> 2) All of the equipment listed on an Operator's CHP 234A shall be inspected. <br /> 3) A tow truck inspection (CHP 2348,Tow Truck Inspection Guide) conducted by a PPD <br /> representative. <br /> D. The PPD may charge an Operator a fee to recover its cost to re-inspect, after each <br /> inspection,any part of the Operator's tow business that appears to the PPD not to be in <br /> compliance with the TSA. <br /> E. If 70 percent or greater of the Operator's tow trucks fail the initial inspection,the <br /> Operator's application shall be denied and the Operator may re-apply during the next <br /> open enrollment period. <br /> F. An Operator shall be provided with written notification of the failure/denial of any tow <br /> truck or equipment and allowed a hearing upon written request to the Police Chief. In <br /> the request for hearing,the Operator shall state the reason for the request. <br /> 2011-2013 TSA Page 17 of 30 <br />
