POLICY STATEMENT OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />REGARDING RESOLUTION NO. 191, PLEASANTON <br />TOWNSHIP COUNTY WATER DISTRICT, RELATING <br />TO THE PURCHASE AND RESALE OF SOUTH BAY <br />AQUEDUCT WATER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Township <br />County Water District have entered into a Joint exercise of <br />Powers Act ,greement regarding the production, wholesaling and <br />retailing of water within the boundaries of the Distric t; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the District shall <br />be the sole water production and wholesaling jurisdiction within <br />the District, and the City shall be the sole water retailing <br />jurisdiction within the District; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Township County Water District did <br />on November 21, 1962, adopt Resolution No. 191, relating to the <br />purchase of South Bay Aqueduct water and sale of water for re- <br />tail distribution to Valley Con~nunity Services District and <br />City of Pleasanton; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. It is the intention of the City of Pleasanton to serve <br /> <br /> water at retail to as much of the area contained within <br /> the Pleasanton Township County Water District as pos- <br /> sible, in accordance with the intent and purpose of the <br /> Joint Exercise of Powers Act Agreement. <br /> <br /> 2. The City of Pleasanton is in general agreement with that <br /> portion of Pleasanton Township County Water District <br /> Resolution No. 191 which states the desirability of <br /> said District acting as the sole contractor with Zone 7 <br /> Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation <br /> District, for all South Bay Aqueduct water to be served <br /> within the District. <br /> <br /> 3. The City of Pleasanton has not yet considered granting <br /> consent to the possible sale of water by the Pleasanton <br /> <br /> <br />
