THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 14 <br /> pL£ASANTON„ <br /> August 16, 2011 <br /> Operations Services Department <br /> TITLE: ADOPTION OF TWO RESOLUTIONS AUTHORIZING GRANT <br /> APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING A CITY RECYCLED WATER FEASIBILITY <br /> STUDY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City, in partnership with Zone 7 Water Agency, is conducting a feasibility study to <br /> evaluate the implementation of recycled water in its service area. To offset the cost of <br /> this study, staff is recommending adoption of two resolutions authorizing submittal of <br /> grant applications. The first application is in response to the Funding Opportunity <br /> Announcement No. R11AF20020 with the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of <br /> Reclamation (Reclamation) to cover up 50% ($177,750) of total project costs ($355,500) <br /> under Federal Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Authority Projects Grant. The <br /> second application is for a $75,000 Water Recycling Facilities Planning Grant through <br /> the State Water Resource Control Board. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt the resolutions, included as Attachment 1 and 2 to this report, authorizing <br /> submittal of grant applications to the U.S Department of Interior and the State Water <br /> Resources Control Board for funding to offset the cost of a recycled water feasibility <br /> study. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The total project cost estimated in the proposed study, is $355,500. In accordance with <br /> grant guidelines, all project costs will paid up front with reimbursement occurring after <br /> project completion.
