CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />I~E:S DLUTID N N~.~ <br /> <br />OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 1194 <br />PROPOSING MAXIMUM WORKING HOURS FOR <br /> FIREMEN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The City Council and the League of California <br />Cities has studied the affect of Assembly Bill No. 1194, <br />concerning maximum working hours of firemen; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS; <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council does hereby oppose and urge the <br />defeat of Assembly Bill No. 1194, providing that employment of <br />firemen by local agencies shall not exceed fifty-six (56) hours <br />per week for the following reasons: <br /> <br /> a. Said bill would cause an undue hardship on <br /> <br /> small and expanding cities. <br /> <br /> b. The bill entrenches and encroaches upon home <br /> <br /> rule by cities. <br /> <br /> 2.
