CiTY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />Ri'SOLUTION NO.~ , ~,_~ <br /> <br />SUPPORTING ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 1657, <br />RE STATE LAW VIOLATORS CONFINED IN <br />CITY JAILS <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, the City Council and the League of California <br />Cities have studied the affect of Assembly Bill No. 1657 concern- <br /> <br />ing confinement of state law violators in city jails; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS; <br /> <br /> 1. The City does hereby support and urge adoption of <br />Assembly Bill No. 1657, requiring the consent of the City before <br />confinement of state law violators in city jails for the following <br />reasons: <br /> <br /> Said bill would relieve city taxpayecs from the double <br /> <br /> burden of supporting both city jails and county jails. <br /> <br /> 2.
