RESOLUTION NO. 11-470 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A USED OIL PAYMENT <br /> PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Resources Code § 48690 the Department of Resources <br /> Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), formerly known as the California Integrated Waste <br /> Management Board, has established the Used Oil Payment Program to make payments to <br /> qualifying jurisdictions for implementation of their used oil programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton maintains a used oil collection program that <br /> encourages recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and <br /> WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority CalRecycle is required to establish <br /> procedures governing the administration of the Used Oil Payment Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, CalRecycle's procedures for administering the Used Oil Payment Program <br /> require, among other things, an Applicant's governing body to declare by resolution certain <br /> authorizations related to the administration of the Used Oil Payment Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 Old <br /> Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, the City Council considered the application for the above used oil <br /> payment program. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is authorized to submit a <br /> Used Oil Payment Program application to CalRecycle. <br /> SECTION 2. The Fire Chief, or his/her designee, is hereby authorized as Signature <br /> Authority to execute all documents necessary to implement and secure payment under the <br /> OPP. <br /> SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption and is effective until rescinded by Signature Authority or this Governing Body. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on July 19, 2011. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 1991 day of July, <br /> 2011, by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None - l <br /> i i dims <br /> Kare Diaz, Cit.lerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> an P.
