EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR SUCCESSFUL EFFORTS 01~ PLEASANTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN LOCATING SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINES, INCORPORATED, IN PLEASANTON. WHEREAS, SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINES, INCORPORATED, has purchased the Cooper property southerly of the City of Pleasanton; and WHEREAS, said SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINES, ~HCORPORATED, will bring a major distribution center for educational materials, adjacent to property of HARPER AND ROW, a national publishing house; and WHEREAS, the combined efforts of the officers and members of the Pleasanton Area Chamber of Commerce and particularly through its New Industries Committee was responsible for bringing SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINES, INCORPORATED, to the City of Pleasanton, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby extend and express its sincere appreciation for the unself- ish devotion and efforts of the Pleasanton Area Chamber of Commerc and its New Industries Committee, for successfully locating a major publisher, SCHOLASTIC MAGAZINES, INCORPORATED, as a new industry within the City of Pleasanton. 2. The City of Pleasanton realizes that a large share of California's growth will locate in the Amador-Livermore Valley, and commends the spirit of cooperation within the Chamber of Commerce, and their strong feelings for maintaining high standards for new industry within the City. 3.
