Brian Krcelic and Josh Pack FE H R '' P E E R S
May 13, 2011
Task 4 -Conduct Modeling and Prepare 2035 Forecasts
We will run the base year and the 2035 model using the inputs described above. The difference
in traffic volumes between the base year and 2035 model runs will be added to the existing
counts described in Task 2, and volumes will be balanced across the adjacent intersections.
Forecasts will be prepared for the three study intersections described above, as well as the
proposed new intersection of Foothill Road/I-580 EB Ramps.
Task 5 - Documentation and Meeting
The updated 2035 traffic forecasts described above will be documented graphically, and the
method for developing the forecasts will be described in a technical memorandum. The
memorandum will also compare the updated 2035 forecasts to the 2025 forecasts presented in
the Project Report. The memo will be submitted to Caltrans for review. We will attend one
meeting with Caltrans to discuss the results.
Based on our knowledge of the differences in regional land use projections, we anticipate that the
updated 2035 forecasts will be equal to or lower than the 2025 forecasts from the Project Report.
If this is the case, then we anticipate that Caltrans will accept the updated forecasts and conclude
that no additional traffic analysis is necessary in order to proceed with the design process for the
interchange improvements. However, if additional traffic analysis is determined to be needed, we
will prepare a separate scope and fee estimate for that work.
Fee Estimate
The estimated fee for this work effort is $14,110, as described in more detail in the accompanying
table.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to assisting you with this project.
