ATTACHMENT 1 RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR A USED OIL PAYMENT PROGRAM TO THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Resources Code § 48690 the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), formerly known as the California Integrated Waste Management Board, has established the Used Oil Payment Program to make payments to qualifying jurisdictions for implementation of their used oil programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton maintains a used oil collection program that encourages recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority CalRecycle is required to establish procedures governing the administration of the Used Oil Payment Program; and WHEREAS, CalRecycle's procedures for administering the Used Oil Payment Program require, among other things, an Applicant's governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the administration of the Used Oil Payment Program. WHEREAS, that on July 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 Old Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, the City Council considered the application for the above used oil payment program NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department is authorized to submit a Used Oil Payment Program application to CalRecycle; and SECTION 2. The Fire Chief, or his/her designee, is hereby authorized as Signature Authority to execute all documents necessary to implement and secure payment under the OPP; and SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption and is effective until rescinded by Signature Authority or this Governing Body. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on July 19, 2011 .
