3508 <br />R~.SOLUTTON RF, CO~D]['NG ~-H~ A??~O~TTON <br />OF $1,250,000 FO~ FTSCAL ¥~LR 1964-65 FOR <br />T~E FLOOD CONTROL ~RO3~.CT ON <br />CAL~FO~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States : author- <br />ized the construction of the flood control project on <br />Alameda Creek, California, and appropriated funds for pre- <br />construction planning; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the President's budget for fiscal year 1964-65 <br />contains an amount of $750,000 to complete preconstruction <br />planning and initiate construction work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the serious hazard to life and property from <br />flooding on Alameda Creek warrants the earliest practicable <br />completion of said project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the local people in 1955 approved a bond issue <br />of $3,989,000 and in 1963 voted approval of a bond issue in <br />the amount of $6,903,000 to provide funds for local cooperation <br />on Alameda Creek and necessary supplementary work on tri- <br />butaries; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is believed to be a practical capabil- <br />ity to expedite materially the accomplishment of said project <br />by the appropriation of additional funds above those presently <br />budgeted, with a resultant saving in total Federal and non- <br />Federal costs for said project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1) The City Council of the City of Pleasanton hereby <br />recommends that the Congress appropriate funds in the amount <br />of $1,250,000 for the flood control project on Alameda Creek, <br />California, for the fiscal year 1964-65. <br /> <br /> 2) The City Clerk shall send copies of this resolution <br />to interested Congressional Committees, Senators, Representa- <br />tives, state and local agencies, including County of Alameda <br />and California Department of Water Resources. <br /> <br />ADOPTED: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />April 13, <br /> <br />HELEN WOODWARD, City Clerk <br /> <br /> I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and <br />correct copy of Resolution No. 3508, adopted April 13, 1964. <br /> <br />HELEN WOODWARD, City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
