THE CITY OF 8 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> rASxO . <br /> June 21, 2011 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH SAN FRANCISCO SHAKESPEARE <br /> FESTIVAL IN THE AMOUNT OF $128,500 FOR THEATRICAL <br /> PRODUCTION SERVICES <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Community Services Department is requesting approval to renew its contract with <br /> San Francisco Shakespeare Festival for theatrical production services for FY 2011/12. <br /> Services include: six (6) performances of professionally produced and performed <br /> summertime outdoor theatrical productions for large community audiences (also known <br /> as Free Shakespeare in the Park) and professional artistic technical and administrative <br /> support for three (3) annual Civic Arts Stage Company youth/family theatrical <br /> productions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the contract with the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival <br /> in the amount of $128,500 for theatrical production services. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The proposed contract for $128,500 includes related expenses for the production of <br /> Cymbaline for "Free Shakespeare in the Park" ($20,000) and the three (3) Civic Arts <br /> Stage Company productions ($108,500). Funds for these expenditures are included in <br /> the FY 2011/12 Operating Budget. Revenue sources include ticket sales, school <br /> concert fees, and participation fees to offset expenses. <br />
