BORTOLOTTO & COMPANY FOR THE SANTA RITA PAVEMENT <br /> REHABILITATION (ARRA) PROJECT, CIP NO. 105023 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This project consisted of the resurfacing of approximately 240,000 square feet of <br /> pavement surface on Santa Rita Road between Valley Avenue and Jensen Street. <br /> Construction of the subject project is complete and ready for acceptance by the City <br /> Council. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for this project. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject property. <br /> 3. Authorize payment of the project retention in the amount of $37,804.28 to <br /> G. Bortolotto & Company thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of the remaining balance from the subject project to the <br /> Annual Resurfacing of Various City Streets project, CIP 105003, since the local <br /> funding portion of this project was provided from the Annual Resurfacing of Various <br /> City Streets project, CIP No. 095003. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The project qualified for a fixed amount of $371,289 from the federal government's <br /> American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant. Staff cost to provide <br /> engineering and project management for this project will be reimbursed by ARRA for a <br /> total amount of $12,235. Additionally, $66,914 in gas tax monies from the Annual Street <br /> Resurfacing project (CIP No. 095003) was used to complete the construction funding of <br /> this project. This project is part of the City's ongoing maintenance efforts to replace the <br /> deteriorated pavement surfaces of City streets. It is anticipated that ongoing <br /> maintenance and resurfacing will extend the useful life of the roadway system and <br /> reduce overall long -term replacement costs. <br />
