THE CITY OF 16 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL E ASANTON. <br /> May 3, 2011 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: CITY OF PLEASANTON (PGPA -17) HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE STATUS <br /> REPORT AND DIRECTION TO THE HOUSING ELEMENT TASK FORCE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> In October 2010, the City Council confirmed an 11- member Housing Element Task Force <br /> to oversee the update of the General Plan Housing Element. This report provides an <br /> update of the accomplishments of the Task Force thus far, a description of the site <br /> selection process that is the focus of the Task Force's work, and an overview of the <br /> schedule for completion of the Housing Element update. <br /> HOUSING COMMISSION AND PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> An update on the Housing Element will be provided to the Housing Commission on April <br /> 21 and to the Planning Commission on April 27. A memo outlining any recommendations <br /> from the Housing Commission and the Planning Commission will be provided to the City <br /> Council prior to the meeting on May 3, 2011. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Provide feedback as appropriate to the Housing Element Task Force on sites to consider <br /> for rezoning and the Goals, Policies and Programs to include in the Draft Housing <br /> Element. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Consultant assistance on this project was authorized by the City Council in September <br /> 2010 and is being paid for through the Lower Income Housing Fund. Planning Division <br /> staff time associated with the Housing Element Update is part of the Community <br /> Development Department's approved budget. <br />
