Introduction of Teen Poet Laureates: Mitch Grimes, Vivian Tsai, NoeIle Malindzak <br /> Councilmember McGovern welcomed Debra Grossman who introduced the Teen Poet <br /> Laureates. <br /> Debra Grossman introduced and gave a brief background of Teen Poet Laureates, stating this <br /> is the third year of the program which is composed of selected juniors and seniors from local <br /> high schools. NoeIle Malindzak, Mitch Grimes and Vivian Tsai then recited short poems and <br /> described their future educational endeavors. <br /> 7. Public Comment <br /> Chris Moser, Leader of the Faith and Survival ministry, spoke of inflation, riots, Mexican border <br /> crimes, the Middle East, world markets, unemployment, foreclosures, rise of metals and <br /> commodities, the Federal Reserve, and State and local government cuts, and he asked <br /> everybody to prepare for difficulties now with friends and families. <br /> Kathy Dowding cited the significant taxpayer expenditure for the wars, and read a list of the <br /> names of military men and women whose lives were lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. <br /> Fred Norman asked the Council to begin meetings with a moment of silence, cited costs of the <br /> war, asked the City Council to do something to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. <br /> City Council Minutes Page 2 of 7 March 1, 2011 <br />
