The goal of the Disaster Council is to build a disaster resilient <br />Pleasanton by forging emergency planning and preparedness partnerships with local agencies to enhance our ability to respond and <br />recover from disasters. <br />• Pleasanton residents (464) attended a one -hour emergency preparedness training. <br />LPFD conducted staff EOC training <br />• The City participated in the State of California's Shake Out Earthquake Exercise on October 21, 2010 <br />Delayed. Recent actions by the State have resulted in better clarity for the City in determining definition of childcare uses This has <br />improved our approach to the review and consideration of land -use applications in the City, and has minimized conflict for the Planning <br />Commission and City Council, and potential applicants <br />The Police Department has worked closely with the City Manager's office, Youth Commission. YMPIC (including the TVAHI) and <br />PUSD to curtail teen alcohol consumption and at -risk behavior Input has been received and several projects of support for new <br />endeavors have been completed including. town hall meetings for teen driving safety. input and support for PUSD suicide prevention <br />forums, new MADD multimedia presentation for all 10th grade students, updated DARE curriculum for 8th grade students, officer <br />training to leverage referrals to local resources such as.
