PROCLAMATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY <br /> BY DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2.44 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code empowers the Director of <br /> Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency <br /> when the City is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the City Council is not <br /> in session; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager, as Director of Emergency Services of the City of <br /> Pleasanton, does hereby find that: <br /> 1. Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within <br /> the City of Pleasanton, caused by a landslide that destroyed the waterline between <br /> Tank 1300 and Tank [600 on the Pleasanton Ridge, west of Foothill Road, <br /> Pleasanton, commencing on or about 12:00 a.m. on the 25 day of March, 2011, <br /> resulting in the disruption of water service for approximately 250 residences and tire <br /> suppression for the residences; and <br /> 2. That the City Council of the City of Pleasanton is not in session and cannot <br /> immediately be called into session. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED, that a local emergency now <br /> exists throughout the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> IT IS FURTHER PROCIAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said <br /> local emergency the powers, functions, and duties of the emergency organization of this City <br /> shall be those prescribed by state law, ordinances, and resolutions of thi, City, and by the City <br /> of Pleasanton Emergency Plan. <br /> 20 I <br /> � � ' <br /> Date and Time Director of Emergency Services <br /> ATTEST: <br /> ) <br /> L)L <br /> Ck <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> City Attorney <br /> Local Emergency Proclamation by Director <br />
