CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 03-017 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CITY PARTICIPATION IN THE <br />TRI-VALLEY WATER RETAILERS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is one of four major water retail agencies within the <br /> Livermore-Amador Valley (the Tri-Valley area); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton and the other three major Valley water retailers (City of <br />Livermore, California Water Service Company of Livermore (Cal Water), and <br />Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD)) obtain the majority of their treated <br />water supplies from the Zone 7 Water Agency under substantially the same <br />contractual terms and conditions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there is a common interest among the four water retailers to more effectively <br />influence Zone 7's planning and implementation efforts on a more formal and <br />structured basis, and to enhance the communication and cooperation among the <br />retail water agencies in the Tri-Valley in regards to issues effecting water supply, <br />water quality and the financing of regional water facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton has encouraged similar regional discussion and cooperation <br />efforts in other mutual interest areas affecting the residents and businesses in the <br />City and the Tri-Valley community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Council believes City participation in the Tri-Valley Water Retailers Cooperation <br />Agreement will benefit the City and Tri-Valley area to help assure a safe and <br />reliable water supply in the future. <br /> <br /> <br />
