CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 03-017 RESOLUTION APPROVING CITY PARTICIPATION IN THE TRI-VALLEY WATER RETAILERS COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is one of four major water retail agencies within the Livermore-Amador Valley (the Tri-Valley area); and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton and the other three major Valley water retailers (City of Livermore, California Water Service Company of Livermore (Cal Water), and Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD)) obtain the majority of their treated water supplies from the Zone 7 Water Agency under substantially the same contractual terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, there is a common interest among the four water retailers to more effectively influence Zone 7's planning and implementation efforts on a more formal and structured basis, and to enhance the communication and cooperation among the retail water agencies in the Tri-Valley in regards to issues effecting water supply, water quality and the financing of regional water facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has encouraged similar regional discussion and cooperation efforts in other mutual interest areas affecting the residents and businesses in the City and the Tri-Valley community; and WHEREAS, Council believes City participation in the Tri-Valley Water Retailers Cooperation Agreement will benefit the City and Tri-Valley area to help assure a safe and reliable water supply in the future.
