RESOLUTION NO. 11-423 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE REGARDING WATER TURN -OFF AND <br /> RECONNECTION FEES, AND FEES FOR REPLACEMENT AND DAMAGE REPAIR, <br /> NOTICES ABOUT UNPAID CHARGES AND RETURNED CHECKS <br /> WHEREAS, as part of the omnibus ordinance updating the Pleasanton Municipal Code, <br /> this includes updating the Master Fee Schedule regarding water turn -off and reconnection fees <br /> in both voluntary, and involuntary failure to pay, situations; and <br /> WHEREAS, clarification is needed in the Master Fee Schedule about when callers may <br /> contact the City to request sarne -day water turn -off or turn -on, as Utility staff are available from <br /> 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and calls for same -day service must be received between 8:00 a.m. to <br /> 3:00 p.m. in order to schedule a staff person and needed equipment to go to a particular <br /> property during regular business hours. Requests received after 3:00 p.m. for same day service <br /> require scheduling and work after normal regular business hours, so after hour fees are <br /> applicable; and <br /> WHEREAS, fees must be updated to reflect additional administrative review and staff <br /> resources needed for data cornpilation when accounts are disconnected more frequently in any <br /> six (6) month time period based on concerns about the need for security deposits; and <br /> WHEREAS, clarification is also needed regarding fees for staff and equipment costs for <br /> repair when equipment has been damaged or vandalized, returned check fees, and interactive <br /> voice recording (IVR) notices about unpaid charges. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Amend the Master Fee Schedule to add a disconnection / turn -off fee and <br /> re -state the reconnection fee as follows: <br /> IX. WATER RATES, FEES, AND CHARGES <br /> A. Water Rates & Charges <br /> Disconnect / Turn-Off Fee <br /> Account in shutoff status for non- 1st time within 6 months $85.00 <br /> payment 2nd time within 6 months $105.00 <br /> (Payment not received by 8:00 am <br /> deadline) 3rd time within 6 months $145.00 <br /> Reconnection Fee <br /> During regular business hours (contacting the City between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 <br /> p.m.) $15.00 <br /> 1st time within 6 months $85.00 <br /> After hours (see above), weekends, and 2nd time within 6 months $105.00 <br /> holidays <br /> 3rd time within 6 months $145.00 <br />
