THE CITY OF <br />pLE ASANTON. <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />12 <br />March 15, 2011 <br />Fire <br />TITLE: APPROVE A CONTRACT TO EXTRATEAM, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED $153,000 FOR THE PURCHASE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A <br />VIDEO CONFERENCING SYSTEM FOR THE TWELVE (12) LIVERMORE- <br />PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT FACILITIES <br />SUMMARY <br />Livermore - Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) staff has identified the critical need for <br />significant improvements to its existing method of department communications. The <br />department would operate rnore efficiently and cost effectively by moving to a system <br />that provides the ability for face -to -face exchange of real -time information and training <br />delivery to /from its fire stations and facilities throughout the organization. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with ExtraTeam, Inc, of <br />Pleasanton for implementation of a state -of- the -art video - conferencing communications <br />system which will interlink and operate from LPFD fire facilities. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The total project amount should not exceed $153,000. The pooling of three funding <br />sources will cover the cost of the project: LPFD Consolidated Budget Transfers <br />($118K), California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (CFFJAC) Grant Funds <br />($25K), and Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) Enforcement Funds ($10K). <br />There will be no fiscal impact. <br />
