CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 03-034 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ALLOCATION OF FEDERAL AND <br />CITY FUNDS RELATIVE TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEARS 2003, 2004, <br />AND 2005 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are distributed to <br />metropolitan cities, urban counties, states, and consortia of local govemments by <br />the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />HUD encourages jurisdictions to plan for the use of federal funds in three-year <br />program cycles for the purposes of planning and implementation of housing and <br />community development programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton is a HUD Entitlement City and will be submitting an Actin <br /> Plan with projects for CDBG funding for Fiscal Year 2003; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton is a participating jurisdiction under the Alameda County <br />HOME Consortium and receives an annual formula allocation of federal funds <br />from the Housing Oppoortunites Made Ease (HOME) program to enable certain <br />housing projects and activities which benefit low income persons; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Council finds that the use of City Lower Income Housing Funds to <br />supplement CDBG funds is an appropriate use under certain conditions as listed in <br />Resolution No. 94-80, adopted in July 1994; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of April 15, 2003, the City Council reviewed the report of the <br />Deputy City Manager (SR 03:105) regarding the proposed CDBG program <br />funding allocation for Fiscal Years 2003, 2004, and 2005. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Council approves the overall funding program for the City's Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for Fiscal Year 2003 as depicted in <br />Table A., including a total of $346,000 in CDBG funds and $51,873 in City <br />Housing Funds, and tentative allocations for Fiscal Years 2004 and 2005. <br /> <br /> <br />
