THE CITY OF JOINT WORKSHOP REPORT <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> -- - "' PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> f L'E ASANTON© BICYCLE, PEDESTRIAN, AND TRAILS COMMITTEE <br /> February 10, 2011 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: DISCUSSION OF IRON HORSE TRAIL FEASIBILITY STUDY AND <br /> MASTER PLAN <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Pursuant to the Council's previous direction, East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) <br /> began work on the Iron Horse Trail Feasibility Study and Master Plan in April 2010 and <br /> has worked with its design consultants Callendar & Associates, and City staff to <br /> evaluate the alignment of the Iron Horse Trail segment from the Dublin- Pleasanton <br /> BART Station to Santa Rita Road. East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) has <br /> recently completed the Iron Horse Trail Feasibility Study and Master Plan and wishes to <br /> present the plan to the City Council, Parks and Recreation Commission and the Bicycle, <br /> Pedestrian and Trails Committee for review, comment and consideration. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> • Review and discuss the Iron Horse Trail Feasibility Study and Master Plan <br /> • Provide clarifying input to East Bay Regional Park District as necessary to refine the <br /> Plan <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding to implement the plan is available from East Bay Regional Park District's <br /> successful application to the Federal Department of Transportation's TIGER II program <br /> and Measure WW. In order to obligate the Federal (TIGER II) funds prior to their <br /> September 2012 expiration, the City Council must approve the Iron Horse Trail <br /> Feasibility Study and Master Plan and begin design work by March, 2011. <br />
