MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> December 7, 2010 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember <br /> Cook - Kallio led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Cook - Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Absent: None <br /> SPECIAL ITEMS <br /> 1. Adopt a resolution declaring the results of the November 2, 2010 General Municipal <br /> Election <br /> Motion: It was M/S by Cook- Kallio/Thorne to waive full reading and adopt Resolution No. <br /> 10-413 reciting the fact of the Consolidated General Municipal Election held on November <br /> 2, 2010 declaring the result and such other matters as provided by law. Motion carried by <br /> the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Cook - Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> OATH OF OFFICE <br /> • Mayor -elect Jennifer Hosterman <br /> • Councilmember -elect Cheryl Cook - Kallio <br /> • Councilmember -elect Jerry Thorne <br /> REMARKS <br /> Mayor Hosterman thanked the public and her family for their support and work on her campaign. <br /> She said her focus for the coming two years remains the same -- to maintain the fiscal health of <br /> the community. She said she is grateful to her fellow mayors throughout the county, with whom <br /> she has been working on some great projects for job creation. One of the primary upcoming <br /> issues is pension reform and she encouraged the entire community to participate in the process. <br /> Councilmember Cook - Kallio reflected on the meaning of public service and the importance of <br /> community members being willing to put themselves out there for the betterment of all. She <br /> thanked all candidates for waging the campaign necessary for good government, and hoped <br /> that when she leaves office, she will have left Pleasanton a better city than a few years before. <br /> She extended her thanks to staff, for truly making a difference, and to her family and support <br /> network. <br />
