PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2002-64 <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE ENERGY PLAN <br />FOR THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of October 23, 2002 the Planning Commission reviewed the <br />Draft Energy Plan for the City of Pleasanton and the staff report regarding <br />the development of the plan; and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public heazing of October 23, 2002, the Planning <br />Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and <br />recommendations of the City staff concerning the proposed Draft Energy <br />Plan and recommended adoption of the draft Negative Declazation <br />prepazed for the plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the Draft Energy Plan establishes <br />energy policy principles about the environment, energy reliability, rate <br />stabilization, the local economy, and actions the City can take to guide <br />Pleasanton towazd a sustainable energy future. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends to the City Council the adoption of the Drag Energy Plan, as <br />attached, with the following recommended changes: <br />1. Page #3, in Section B, change "Favor locally distributed power <br />opportunities..." to "Favor clean, locally distributed power <br />opportunities... " <br />2. Page #3, in Section A (Baseline Use Information), change "Due to <br />conscious conservation efforts, the reductions in use were not totally <br />at the expense of basic personal necessities or mission critical <br />business operations." to "The conservation efforts over the past year <br />reduced Pleasanton's residents' and businesses' energy bills without <br />compromising quality of life or critical business operations. In fact, <br />many of these efforts have improved quality of life and increased <br />business profitability for customers who installed energy efficient <br />technologies that provide improved service, while simultaneously <br />lowering energy bills:' <br />3. Page #8, in Section E.6.e., change "Support environmentally <br />responsible distributed power generation." to "Support clean <br />distributed power generation." <br />
