PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2002-59 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE <br />APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND THE PLEASANTON <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, AS FILED UNDER CASE PRZ-09 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has filed an application to amend the Pleasanton Municipal <br />Code by adding an ordinance that would require new civic and commercial projects <br />over 20,000 squaze feet in size to incorporate green building measures from the U.S. <br />Green Building Council's LEEDS (Leadership in Energy and Environmental <br />Design) Rating System; and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of September 25, 2002, the Planning Commission received a proposed <br />negafive declaration prepared for Case PRZ-09; and <br />WHEREAS, the public was given the opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of <br />the proposal; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the potential impacts in accordance with the <br />applicable state and local guidelines governing the prepazation of Negative <br />Declarations; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds that the proposed project will have no potential for <br />adverse impacts on the site's wildlife; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission further finds that approval of the proposed project would <br />not have any significant adverse effects on the environment. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of the Negative Declaration prepared for Case PRZ-09, the <br />application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Pleasanton Municipal Code by <br />adding an ordinance that would require new civic and commercial projects over <br />20,000 squaze feet in size to incorporate green building measures from the U.S. <br />Green Building Council's LEED"" (Leadership in Energy and Environmental <br />Design) Rating System. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effecfive immediately upon passage and adoption. <br />
