303.2 Enclosures. Private swimming pools, hot tubs and spas containing water more <br /> than 18 inches (457 mm) in depth shall be completely surrounded by a fence or barrier <br /> in compliance with PMC section 20.08.180 or PMC section 20.10.160, as applicable. <br /> Gates and doors in such barriers shall be self - closing and self - latching. Where the self - <br /> latching device is less than 60 inches (1524 mm) above the bottom of the gate, the <br /> release mechanism shall be located on the pool side of the gate. Self- closing and self - <br /> latching gates shall be maintained such that the gate will positively close and latch when <br /> released from an open position of 6 inches (152 mm) from the gatepost. No existing <br /> pool enclosure shall be removed, replaced or changed in a manner that reduces its <br /> effectiveness as a safety barrier. <br /> Exception: Spas or hot tubs with a safety cover that complies with ASTM F 1346 <br /> shall be exempt from the provisions of this section. <br /> 20.65.130 Section 304.14 deleted - Insect screens. <br /> 20.65.140 Section 404.5 deleted - Overcrowding. <br /> 20.65.150 Section 404.6 amended - Efficiency Unit. <br /> Section 404.6 of the International Property Maintenance Code, 2009 Edition is amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> 404.6 Efficiency Unit. Nothing in this section shall prohibit an efficiency living unit from <br /> meeting the following requirements: <br /> 1. A unit shall have a clear floor area of not less than 220 square feet (20.4 m <br /> exclusive of the areas required by Items 2 and 3. <br /> 2. The unit shall be provided with a kitchen sink, cooking appliance and refrigeration <br /> facilities, each having a clear working space of not less than 30 inches (762 mm) <br /> in front. Light and ventilation conforming to this code shall be provided. <br /> 3.
