THE CITY OF 03 <br /> = -r CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTONo <br /> January 4, 2011 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO DEMONSTRATE SUPPORT OF THE 2012 <br /> FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES FOR THE TRI- VALLEY REGION <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Tri- Valley cities including Danville, Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, and Pleasanton <br /> work together on an annual basis to develop a federal legislative agenda for members <br /> of our congressional delegation to consider. Once finalized, the Tri - Valley Mayors travel <br /> to Washington D.C. to meet with members of our delegation to discuss legislative <br /> priorities for the region. These efforts occur in concert with the Annual US Conference <br /> of Mayors Meeting. This year, a prerequisite from members of our delegation includes <br /> an adopted resolution to show formal support from regional jurisdictions. Staff and <br /> contracted lobbyists monitor legislative issues closely. Coordinated efforts to respond to <br /> relevant legislative topics will continue as California's the federal legislative session <br /> proceeds. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council adopt the proposed resolution. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no fiscal impact. <br />
