Meeting Notes <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> Downtown Vitality Committee <br /> September 7, 2010 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The special of the Committee was started at the hour of 12:05 p.m. <br /> ATTENDEES <br /> Jeb Bing <br /> Mike Trifah <br /> Peter MacDonald <br /> Mike Cheney <br /> Janice Stem <br /> Howard Long <br /> Mike Hosterman <br /> Rosalind Rondash <br /> INFORMATIONAL PRESENTATION: <br /> Green Building Presentation from the Planning Department <br /> Staff provided a presentation on the various aspects of the CALGreen code and a <br /> comparison to the City's current Green Building requirements. <br /> The questions /comments /concerns that came from the group are as follows: <br /> 1. Impacts on the costs for building affordable housing should be considered. <br /> 2. Impacts of Proposition 23 repealing this code should be considered. <br /> 3. What are the green costs for demolishing existing structures to build new green <br /> buildings? <br /> 4. Concerns of waste diversion requirements having a cost and feasibility challenge <br /> for small construction companies. <br /> 5. Staff should find a way to provide all requirements in a list that a contractor and <br /> just insert into plans. <br /> 6. Concerns about discouraging development and revenue generation in the <br /> downtown. <br /> 7.
