2. Realignment of Main Street with Bernal Avenue/First Street Intersection under <br /> Cumulative Conditions <br /> <br />Finding: The City finds that the following mitigation measure is feasible and has <br /> been adopted, thereby mitigating the impact to a less-than-significant level. <br /> <br />Transportation Chapter Policy 8: Retain the existing four-way intersection <br />at Bernal Avenue and Sunol Boulevard/First Street, and install a <br />synchronized traffic signal at the intersection of Bernal Avenue and Main <br />Street. <br /> <br />Geolok-y and Soils <br /> <br />3. Potential for damage to existing or proposed development and risk to people <br /> from seismic shaking and/or fault rupture <br /> <br />Finding: <br /> <br />The City finds that the following mitigation measure is feasible and has <br />been adopted. However, the impact would not be reduced to a less-than- <br />significant level. A statement of overriding considerations for this impact is <br />made in the following section. <br /> <br />Site-specific geologic investigations and soils report will be required for all <br />proposed development projects, as per the requirements of the Public Safety <br />Element of the General Plan. <br /> <br />Biological Resources <br /> <br />4. Impacts on nocturnal wildlife from lighting along the proposed Arroyo del Valle <br /> trail <br /> <br />Finding: The City finds that the following mitigation is feasible and has been <br /> adopted, thereby mitigating the impact to a less-than-significant level. <br /> <br />Land Use Chapter Policy 28: The City shall require the owners of new <br />businesses that locate adjacent to the Arroyo to implement special trash <br />removal procedures. Trash cans shall be covered so that wildlife cannot <br />enter them or retrieve food from them. Food scraps shall be removed from <br />the premises. Dumping food, crumbs, or other waste in or near the Arroyo <br />shall not be allowed. New outdoor lighting shall be subtle, low, and <br />directed toward the building and away from the channel bed. <br /> <br />Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
