PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS

a. PAP-30 (Appeal ofPADR-551)
Applicants: Julie Engel & Brian Severn
Appellant: Wilson Myers
Appeal of the Zoning Administrator's approval of an application for
administrative design review to construct an approximately 1,011 sq. ft. first- and
second-floor addition to the existing single-story home located at 4464
Sierrawood Lane. Zoning for the property is R-I-6,500 (Single-Family
Residential) District.

-

Mr. Iserson presented the staff report. He noted that since the staff report was published,
the appellant requested a continuance so that he may perform some additional work
necessary for the appeal. It was City policy that both the appellant and the applicant
would have to agree on any continuance; the applicants did not agree to a continuance.
He suggested that the Planning Commission take public testimony on the matter of the
continuance.

Chairperson Maas advised that she would like to hear the appeal, and added that there
had been enough time to pull the information together.

In response to Chairperson Maas' question whether the Commission should take public
input on the continuance, Mr. Iserson replied that the Commission should invite members
of the public who may not be able to attend the June 26 meeting to speak on the matter
this evening if the Commission continues the matter to that meeting.

Mr. Iserson noted that the next public hearing would fall on the 40th day of the appeal
period.

Chairperson Maas moved to hear the appeal as scheduled. Commissioner Kameny
seconded the motion.

Chairperson Maas noted that she did not like to see applicants delayed in these matters.

Commissioner Arkin inquired whether the appeal could be made to the City Council.

r-

PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

June 12,2002

Page 2
