,.- ROLL CALL VOTE

A YES: Commissioners Arkin, Maas, and Sullivan
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: Commissioners Kameny and Roberts

Resolution No. PC-2002-3I was entered and adopted as motioned.

Commissioners Kameny and Roberts returned to the dais.

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

Commissioner Roberts advised that she would like staff to obtain information regarding
Livermore's plan to incorporate different size houses in new development projects, so that the
Commission could discuss this issue. She noted that she would like to find a way to incorporate
mid-range, moderate housing in new projects. She noted that Livermore is giving preference in
its growth management approvals to developments that have a variety of sizes of houses, which
provide affordability for moderate-income purchasers through size and design. There was
unanimous consensus to bring this back as an agenda item.

r

Commissioner Sullivan questioned what is happening with the plans for the properties on the
east side of Pleasanton and the property on the corner of Stanley and Bernal. He noted that he
would like to see the Planning Commission conduct a workshop where staff presents the current
plans for those properties that have proposals, and which would allow the Planning Commission
the opportunity to provide feedback on what they would like to see on those sites.
Commissioner Roberts commented that it would be pertinent to have this discussion prior to
review of the Housing Element land use plan. Commissioner Sullivan stated that he would like
to do this in the form of a workshop, so that it can be properly noticed and public input can be
received, and the Planning Commission can provide feedback. Commissioner Arkin expressed
support for a workshop. Commissioner Arkin noted that he liked the way the StanleylBernal
area was presented using an aerial view at a previous meeting, and he would like to see this same
format used for the east Pleasanton area.

In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Roberts, Mr. Swift provided an update on the
demolition and reconstruction of the Ruby Hill Winery building.

In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Sullivan, Mr. Swift advised that the east side
traffic study has been put on hold until the City's traffic model is developed. He provided an
update on the status of the traffic model, as well as the Busch property proposal.

Chairperson Maas thanked staff for resolving the issue of employees from the Mt. Diablo Bank
building parking on the vacant lot at the corner of Main Street and Old Stanley. She asked if
there are any ideas for this vacant lot. Mr. Swift advised that staff has not seen any current
proposals for this property.

r-

PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

May 14,2002

Page 9
