Program 48.9 - add "facilitate use of energy-efficiency mortgage programs for energy- <br />efficient houses to enhance affordability." <br />Commissioner Sullivan noted that while he understands the need to move the document forward, <br />he is concerned about the process that allows the bypassing of the Commissions. <br /> <br />Chairperson Maas acknowledged that the Task Force worked very hard to reach many <br />compromises. She noted that she thinks Policy 20, which calls for educating the public <br />regarding P1easanton's affordable housing program is very important and is one of the main <br />things that has to be done to achieve affordable housing in this City. She stated that various <br />means need to be used to provide for this education. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas moved to recommend approval to the City Council the Housing <br />Element Goals, Policies, and Programs for inclusion in the Housing Element and for <br />consideration of the Planning Commission's recommendations. He stated that he is fairly happy with the document, but he is not happy with the <br />process. <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Sullivan noted that a copy of the Draft Mission Statement of the Energy Advisory <br />Group was provided to the Commissioners this evening. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kameny inquired as to the purpose of the blue light on the top ofthe traffic light <br />on southeast corner of the intersection of Bemal and Stanley.
