<br />Resolution No. PC-2001-58 was entered and adopted as motioned. <br /> <br />I"" <br /> <br />Chairperson Maas advised that this decision can be appealed to the City Council. <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts returned to the dais. <br /> <br />b. PCUP-40, Sharif Akbari d.b.a. Metro Cab. Inc. <br />Application for a conditional use permit to conduct a taxi service business within an <br />existing service commercial suite located at 3597 Del Valle Parkway, Suite D. Zoning <br />for the property is PUD-C (Planned Unit Development - Commercial) District. <br /> <br />Eric Kishi presented the staff report, providing an overview ofthe business and proposed <br />operations. He provided information related to parking and noise issues. Mr. Kishi advised that <br />staff feels the required conditional use permit findings can be made and recommends approval of <br />the application. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Kameny, Mr. Kishi advised that the business is <br />currently in operation. Mr. Kishi clarified that taxi cab operations doing business within the City <br />are allowed one year to establish an office location within the City. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Harvey, Mr. Kishi advised that a condition allows <br />the applicant to expand the business to eight vehicles, and if the applicant wants to exceed this he <br />will need to submit information on how adequate, required parking would be provided. <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />COMMENTS FROM THE APPLICANT <br /> <br />Sharif Akbari, 3597 Del Valle Parkway, Suite D, advised that he is happy to be conducting his <br />business in Pleasanton and he has good neighbors at this site. He noted that his business <br />provides services 24 hours a day. He advised that safety checks and the interior cleaning of <br />vehicles are done on site. He also advised that most of the oil changing is done off-site. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts moved to make the conditional use permit findings and approve <br />Case PCUP-40, subject to the conditions in Exhibit "B."
