RESOLUTION NO. 10-408 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br /> AMENDING THE PLEASANTON GENERAL PLAN 2005 -2025 TO DELETE ALL <br /> REFERENCES TO THE HOUSING CAP (MEASURE GG, 1996, LIMITING THE TOTAL <br /> NUMBER OF RESIDENTIAL UNITS TO 29,000) <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton reached a Settlement Agreement in the matter of Urban <br /> Habitat v. City of Pleasanton; <br /> WHEREAS, the Settlement Agreement stipulates that all references to the 1996 housing <br /> cap initiative (Measure GG) and related programs and policies throughout the various elements of <br /> the General Plan shall be removed by October 19, 2010; <br /> WHEREAS, the City has prepared an amendment to the General Plan (Exhibit A) which <br /> eliminates language related to the 29,000 unit residential housing cap from the General Plan; <br /> WHEREAS, on July 21, 2009, the City Council reviewed and certified the Final <br /> Environmental Impact Report for the 2005 -2025 General Plan and no further environmental review <br /> is warranted at this time; <br /> WHEREAS, on October 19, 2010, the City Council received the Planning Commission's <br /> positive recommendation for such General Plan amendment and, on that date, received reports <br /> from City staff concerning the General Plan amendment; and <br /> WHEREAS, on October 19, 2010, the City Council conducted a public hearing on the <br /> General Plan amendment, took testimony from members of the public, and considered the <br /> recommendations of the City staff concerning the General Plan amendment; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend the Pleasanton General Plan 2005 -2025 <br /> as set forth in Exhibit A. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The Pleasanton General Plan 2005 -2025, as adopted in Resolution 09 -314, <br /> is hereby amended as shown in Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on October 19, 2010. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 19 day of October, <br /> 2010 by the following vote: <br /> 1 <br />
