THE CITY OF 20 <br /> # °'° - ,r CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTONe <br /> November 16, 2010 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE STATUS REPORT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On October 19, 2010, the City Council confirmed an eleven- member ad hoc Housing <br /> Element Task Force, and on November 8, the Task Force held its first meeting. The <br /> Housing Element Task Force will be meeting at least monthly for the next 12 months and, <br /> with assistance from staff and from the Housing Element consultant, will be preparing a <br /> draft Housing Element of the General Plan to be submitted to the California Department <br /> of Housing and Community Development (HCD) by mid - August, 2011. The following <br /> report outlines the workplan of the Task Force and the overall schedule for the project. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Receive information and provide feedback as appropriate. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Staff costs for the Housing Element update were included in the Community <br /> Development Department's budget, and the consultant's contract was funded from the <br /> Lower Income Housing Fund. <br />
