THE CITY OF ATTACHMENT 1
•
uuu .. m:ur 111
July 12, 2010 pLE ASANTON ,
Mr. Dave Requa DSRSD JULlelOp11112:57
Assistant General Manager
Dublin San Ramon Services District
7051 Dublin Blvd.
Dublin, CA 94568
Subject: Allocation of the City of Pleasanton's Unused Sewer Capacity to Future
Commercial Customers
Dear Dave:
This letter is to request authorization from the Dublin San Ramon Services District
(DSRSD) to the City of Pleasanton (City) to utilize the excess unused sewer capacity in
its facilities and grant yielded excess capacity to the City's future commercial customers
at its discretion.
We understand that DSRSD has performed a similar study of its facilities and allocated
the unused excess sewer capacity to commercial customers in its service area. Both
DSRSD and the City, from time to time, perform sewer assessment analysis for private
commercial customers in each of their service areas and allow customers to use yielded
excess sewer capacity for future use at their sites.
The City has performed an analysis of its purchased sewer capacity for certain City
facilities and has determined that the City currently has approximately 48 Development
Unit Equivalent (DUES), each of which equals 220 gallons per day.
To make the determination of the unused sewer capacity, we made the following
analysis: 1) reviewed sewer capacity purchased for City facilities, 2) utilized historical
utility billing records and calculated past five years sewer discharges from City facilities,
3) examined purchased and actual sewer discharges for City facilities and determined that
there are approximately 48 D[Jhs with unused sewer capacity in these facilities.
Accordingly, a list of five City -owned facilities with the corresponding unused sewer
capacities is provided below:
•
•
OPERATIONS SERVICES DEPARTMENT P.
