19
THE CITY OF
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pLEASANTON.
November 16, 2010
Operations Services
TITLE: APPROVE PROGRAM TO RE- ALLOCATE THE CITY'S UNUSED
REGIONAL SEWER CAPACITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING
AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVE PROGRAM FOR ELIGIBLE
BUSINESSES
SUMMARY
On July 12, 2010, the City of Pleasanton submitted a letter to the Dublin San Ramon
Services District (DSRSD) requesting that the City be allowed to transfer unused sewer
capacity at City owned properties to other private properties as an economic
development incentive program for eligible businesses within the City of Pleasanton.
Dublin has performed a similar study of its facilities and allocated the unused excess
sewer capacity to commercial customers in its service area.
RECOMMENDATION
The program has been accepted by the DSRSD /City of Pleasanton Liaison Committee,
City Staff now recommends approval of the program to City Council. The DSRSD Board
will be approving this item on their November 16, 2010 agenda.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
No direct costs to the City. City staff believes that increased economic activity could
result from this incentive being available to businesses within the city.
